Comment:
Man infected with Echinococcus granulosus cyst stage called hydatid disease. Humans become infected by accidently ingesting food contaminated by dog (canine) faeces containing the eggs of the adult tape worm. The liberated embryo penetrates the intestinal mucosa with 66 percent of cysts lodging in the liver. The usual intermediate host is sheep or cattle or other herbivores such as kangaroos.
